Blackened Beef

Ingredients:

½ kg Beef

2 tbsp Oil

2 Onions(cut long) 3 Green chillies

1" piece Ginger (made into a fine paste) 2 pieces Garlic (made into a fine paste) ½ tsp Turmeric powder

1 tbsp Coriander powder 1 tsp Chilly powder

1 tbsp Pepper powder

2 sprigs Curry leaves

Salt - As required

¼ tsp mustard seeds

A handful of fresh coconut cut into thin slices of ½ inch each.

Method:

Wash and cut the beef into small pieces. This makes the dish a lot tastier.

Mix beef with chilly and turmeric powder along with salt and pressure cook. Pressure cook for about three whistles and do not add any water to the meat. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions till they turn brown in color.

Then add ginger and garlic and fry till they turn golden in color.

To this, add green chilies cut long; when the chilies have fried a bit, add coriander powder, pepper powder, and curry leaves. When a nice aroma comes, add the cooked beef.

Fry till the water evaporates. The trick to a nice coastal beef fry comes only when the meat, along with all the other ingredients is slow fried on low heat.

This can be served with chapattis or rice.
